A bukkehorn (Norwegian) or bukkrhorn in Old Norse (later becoming Geitahorn in Úlfheimr to reinforce the association of music with the feminine), also called ″Billy Goat Horn″ in English, is an ancient Scandinavian musical instrument hand-made from the horn of a goat that is harvested 5 to 7 years before the instrument is crafted. 

The instrument has two blowing-techniques: the trumpet-principle (most common), as well as the clarinet-principle.
