SO, YOU WANT TO BECOME AN SCUBA DIVER...
Yeah, we know. Exploring new and exciting places like Thor Heyerdahl is part of a Víkingr DNA. And if there's something left on earth that truly requires exploration by Víkingar, it is indeed our oceans.
So, here's a course to get you certified as an Open Water Diver through PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors), the world's largest scuba diving training organization.
Of course, once you are certified, we can also train you in various specializations, including CCR (Closed Circuit Rebreathers). But first things first.
This course is organized in 3 completely independent sections, which are completed at your own pace: Diving Theory (online/offline), Confined Water Dives (various locations), and Open Water Dives (various locations).
WHAT'S COVERED IN DJÚPR CAMP
This is taken independently from the other sections of this course. It covers everything you need to know about diving, and is a pre-requisite for confined and open water dives, and thus, for becoming certified as a PADI Open Water Diver. You can select two options for course delivery: Open Water eLearning (requires flash and is not compatible with IOS mobile phones and tablets), or Open Water Offline Touch (available on the latest Android and Apple devices).
CONFINED WATER DIVES
The next step in getting your PADI Open Water Diver certification is confined water dives, which are completed independently from the first section (Diving Theory). These dives are done in pools or lagoons, either through NØRSKK at various locations, or through any PADI Dive Center in the world.
OPEN WATER DIVES
The final step in getting your PADI Open Water Diver certification is open water dives. These may be combined with the required confined water dives, over the course of two days. These dives can be completed through NORSKK at various locations, or through any PADI Dive Center in the world.
How to get started? Easy: You just need to sign up!
Cost of the first section of the course (Diving Theory) is 1,999 kr. Yeah, it is a bit steep, but a big chunk of it goes to PADI. Still no taxes though! And for those currency-challenged, that's about $245.
